Aaron Macy
Aaron Macy was an amazing person. I interacted with him only briefly during my first semester of school at Bowling Green. I was a punky freshman who didn't want to do the cylinder assignment because I though I already knew better. He encouraged me to challenge the system and rise above and be bold and adventurous--yes, within a cylinder assignment--and I never forgot his can-do attitude. Soon after, Aaron was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away six weeks later. A scholarship was started in his name and given to students sharing in his spirit, energy and optimism. I'm so happy and honored to be part of this exhibition recognizing a group of amazing artists.
